Macnas Parade Galway - more fun for Ravens !

A stunning parade from Macnas, it was ! Lovely friendly crew amazing giant puppets and giant penny farthings and metal things and 'Barry the badger' and other wonderful exuberant performers.
We really enjoyed ourselves along with everyone in Galway.

We got all bicycle mad last year, Spoke'n'Chain, Cap'n Bikebeard, Les Velobicis, and more....

We only got up once at Shambala Festival to rig up the canopy for the Bicycle Carousel !

This year we are going back to basics !

St.Pauls Carnival July 4th 2009 - Leaders of Tomorrow

"Soca Morris Love Krump Fancy Sailors all at sea, lost and in search of new islands and calm seas, where are they going? what are they doing?who is going to lead them?
They call upon Yemaya the Ocean, 'the mother whose children are like fish', she is compassion, wisdom, creation, and inspiration, the essence of motherhood, and protector of all children. She tells them that LOVE will lead them.
But where shall we find LOVE
And so Aphrodite, Goddess of LOVE born of the sea, appears before them in her chariot of scallop shells , surrounded by her winged love-gods, the mischievous Cupids, and her sacred and amorous lovebirds.
She tells them to follow the children, whose very happiness is LOVE."

St. Pauls Carnival Awards Ceremony

We won the wotsit carnival circus award and got our trophy now. A very pleasant evening was had ending up in Star and Garter for dancing.

Would you believe it, am talking to Pax and he tells me that Keylemanjahro (see below) coming to play at St. Pauls next year !!!! Whaaahey we got serious competition !!!!! and the kids will be mightily impressed. What we gonna do !!!
